April 24, 2015 2:36 pm at 2:36 pm #1073833Little FroggieParticipantThe original one.
April 24, 2015 3:03 pm at 3:03 pm #1073834ItcheSrulikMemberYes, Rav Schachter holds we should say hallel today instead of yesterday because here in chu”l there’s no risk of the celebrations running into shabbat.
April 24, 2015 3:47 pm at 3:47 pm #1073835Little FroggieParticipantYes.. and in commemoration of the original inventors of this day.. who had no problem with chillul Shabbos…
April 24, 2015 3:52 pm at 3:52 pm #1073836Sam2ParticipantLF: Oh! You’re right! R’ Schachter never thought of such a thing! He didn’t realize that Ben Gurion was a Rasha. After all these decades, you’ve finally pointed out what slipped his mind. Thank you so much!
Seriously, give it a rest. We know your Shittah. That doesn’t mean you should mock those with another.

April 28, 2015 2:27 am at 2:27 am #1073838147ParticipantI Yom Yerusholayim this year being observed biZemano on Sunday Iyyor 28th? or is it being Nidche to Monday Iyyor 29th? to avoid potential Chillul Shabbos prior to evening Of Motzei Schabbos Iyyor 28th?
April 28, 2015 2:55 am at 2:55 am #1073839Little FroggieParticipantEveryone could celebrate on any day he/she wishes. ????? ???? ?????.
April 28, 2015 3:06 am at 3:06 am #1073840Little FroggieParticipantSeriously speaking, I think it should be more permitted to celebrate a Yom Yerushalaim, where something did happen, some ness, victory to commemorate, than a yom haatzmaut, where nothing of significance occurred. The occasion of a bunch of irreligious declaring something irreligious, marks no significance in a Jewish history, certainly nothing for a Torah-true Jew to celebrate. The gist of their goal, their mission was ???? ??? ?????, let us be as all other nations.. let us fight with our might… etc. According to a Gra, commemorating such would certainly be an issur of chukos hagoyim.
