What do they mean by Ephraim studied Torah with Jacob?

Which reminds me of something I saw from R’ Yaakov Kaminetzky. He asks the famous question of how Yaakov married 2 sisters if he kept the whole Torah. He answers that Yaakov only kept the Torah as a chumra since it wasn’t given yet. But he had given his word to Rochel that he would marry her. So after Lavan tricked him into marrying Leah he decided that his chumra of keeping the Torah shouldn’t take precedence over his obligation of bein adam l’chaveiro to Rochel and Leah to keep his word to them.
