Does anyone know the first time this is used in the Chumash? So far the earliest place I’ve found it is by Yitzhak. There’s a Shvua and also an Alla. What’s the difference and don’t you find it interesting that a certain religions term for G-d could mean “oath?”?
I was told that the Moslem name for the Diety was from the same root as K L.
Another thought: It could also be related to oaths. Our word, ELOKIM also means judges.
If the word Alla (which has a komotz under both the aleph and the lamed) is related to the word in LH”K which is a name of G-d, that is one thing to consider. The name Allah is clearly derived from the LH”K word Kai”L, so being similar to the word for oath is only a secondary coincidence.
