Totally unfair and uncalled for. Many people affected were far from wealthy. In fact most were not wealthy.

October 30, 2013 3:04 pm at 3:04 pm #984161LevAryehMemberI’m sorry for not being clear; I did not mean to cause offense.
Of course I know that many people who were not wealthy had everything detroyed, and definitely needed and deserved the money they received from tzedaka.
That being said, it is impossible to deny the fact that the two communities which were hit the worst are widely known as being wealthy, and that a lot of tzedaka money was given to people who had no need. And please don’t quote me the thing about the hundred runners.

I don’t know where you get your information from, but I can tell you that many families, which under ordinary circumstances do not need charity, became legitimately and desperate
ly needy a year ago.
May you never experience what many did.
