takahmamash, I saw an article recently about an attempt to reopen the Canarsie mikveh. It said there were a bunch of shuls and young people are moving in. It was the first I’d heard of it.
I’m a Jew and my tent is in Canarsie. Canarsie has several shuls, a daily minyan for Shachris and for Mincha-Maariv, and is home to Yeshiva Ohr Yisroel, a Chassidishe Yeshiva under the auspices of Rabbi Geldzahler shlita. And yes – it IS in Brooklyn.
