Too bad..
June 25, 2012 2:40 pm at 2:40 pm #884564takahmamashParticipantAre there any Jews in Canarsie?
(I’m not being flip. I had many relatives in Canarsie, ages ago. They’ve all either died or moved. It seemed like the neighborhood was changing, which is why I wonder if any Jews are left.)

June 29, 2012 10:12 am at 10:12 am #884570yehudayonaParticipanttakahmamash, I saw an article recently about an attempt to reopen the Canarsie mikveh. It said there were a bunch of shuls and young people are moving in. It was the first I’d heard of it.
June 29, 2012 2:13 pm at 2:13 pm #884571TheMusicManParticipantYou mean the toothy thing that’s on the end of some construction machines?
That’s a great deal!
July 12, 2012 5:22 pm at 5:22 pm #884572tentsitterParticipantI’m a Jew and my tent is in Canarsie. Canarsie has several shuls, a daily minyan for Shachris and for Mincha-Maariv, and is home to Yeshiva Ohr Yisroel, a Chassidishe Yeshiva under the auspices of Rabbi Geldzahler shlita. And yes – it IS in Brooklyn.
