How do you make it?
Is it the same way your bobba made it?
February 13, 2011 2:48 am at 2:48 am #998034smartcookieMemberGo into Strauss bakery in BP and try it! Yum!
February 13, 2011 3:45 am at 3:45 am #998035oomisParticipantI don’t know how anyone else makes it, but mine comes out almost like a pareve quiche. Preheat the oven to 350 degree.
You slice up and saute two really large onions, along with a can of mushroom pieces until all are soft and a little browned. Drain off the oil and add 1/2 cup of mayo, 4-5 eggs, 1 1/2 – 2 tsp. salt and a good shake of black pepoer. Put in a Pam-sprayed 9″ square disposable pan, and bake at 350 degrees until the top looks golden brown and feels firm to the touch (almost spongy). I check after a half hour to see if it has baked enough.

“Someone gave me a recipe, but I need their permission to post it.”
Huh?!
January 12, 2014 2:33 am at 2:33 am #998045TheGoqParticipantWIY it could be a relative, some family recipes are not meant for public knowledge.
January 12, 2014 4:35 am at 4:35 am #998046Torah613TorahParticipantIt’s from the skvere cookbook. Maybe I’ll post it tomorrow.

If the cook book is something that is for sale you probably can’t post recipes without their express permission that they allow the sharing of recipes.
January 12, 2014 10:48 pm at 10:48 pm #998048Torah613TorahParticipantWell, I’m posting a third of the recipe I got. Based on the one in the Skvere cookbook. Thank you to the friend who asked a friend for the recipe.
Saute 5 large onions in oil until golden- allow some time for this, it takes a while
For the dough:
3 eggs + egg white/yolk
3 cups flour
1/3 cup oil
1/3 cup warm water
1/3 tsp. baking powder
1/3 tsp. salt
Knead all ingredients together.
Divide dough and onions to 2 parts. Roll out dough, and spread onions and sprinkle salt and pepper. Roll up and place each roll into a 9″ round tin.
Brush with egg. Bake at 375 for 55 minutes.
