Did you know that NO personal insurance policy would cover anyone driving for uber even part time? The insurance companies view it as a transportation service, but UBER view themselves as a technology company. Regardless of who is right, the bottom line is, that if you do drive for uber and your insurance company finds out, your policy will be deemed void, and would not cover for any damages.

Attention gavra; UBER will indeed let anyone with a regular driving license sign up.
Attention zahava; I’m not sure about NYC, but in other places UBER does not require TL&C plates.
