I understand that this organization and its av bet din, R’ Mordechai Yitzchok Friedman, have a semicha program. Does anyone know of his origins, or the credibility of this group? I would like semicha eventually, and it seems like a good opportunity.

I think you might be getting ahead of yourself. You have so many amazing interests, but I think it’s more important to clear up your gairus status first. You’re going to want to make sure that it’s uncontested before you begin studying to become a rabbi.

It’s like trying to get a job in the u.s.a. with a visa that might be questioned later. Don’t do that to yourself. I think you should deal with it now so you don’t have to revisit it again.

He accepts my geirus already. I already have Orthodox geirus, but would like one that is accepted by a wider segment of the community.

He has no credentials, speaks only for himself, and is a nutcase.

He is the self-styled Jewish Tea Party founder and a Kahanist.

I heard he was a member of the Iggud haRabbonim before forming his own rabbinical organization. Does anyone know anything more?

Isn’t Igud run by a Lubavitcher?
