The is only one place where it says בני אהרן הכהן, the children of Aaron the Kohen rather than
בני אהרן הכהנים the children of Aaron who are a Kohen. as usual. When it comes to contibuting to the fire from heaven by making it burn better as explained by the Rabbenu Bachaye and not by bringing from the outside as Nadav Veaavihu pressumed, they need the zechus of Aaron the Kohen, their father, to istrengthen the fire of the heaven. Someone pointed out to me Rashi tbat it refers here to the children of Aaron the Kohen who are a Kohen Gadol wearing eight type of outfits.

Rabbi Akiva was not selected as the nasi as he had no zechus avos, attributing one’s greatness to the father which leads to gaiva.

Rashi says when Hashem listened to Yitzchak over Rivkah as Yitzchak is a tzadik ben tzadik whereas Rivkah is a tzadekes bas rasha. Maybe as Yitzchak coming from a tzadik would have the value of 2 whereas Rivka from a rasha, 1 1/2. So 2>1 1/2.
