January 4, 2010 12:47 pm at 12:47 pm #673902positiveaynayimMemberI don’t know if it is a popular song to walk down to at wedding, but no doubt it is a beautiful song, with a heartfelt melody. The question I would ask: is the melody the only important part of walking down to a song, or are the words that go with it something one is looking for as well, and can be a source of inspiration simultaneously?
January 4, 2010 12:57 pm at 12:57 pm #673903haifagirlParticipantSince usually (at least at all the weddings I’ve attended), the music people walk down to is instrumental. Therefore, the words would seem to be irrelevant.
The mods probably won’t let this next part through, but I’ve always thought it would be really cool to walk down to the second section of Chopin’s funeral march. I figure those who don’t know it will just think it’s a beautiful piece of music, and those who do know will be amused.
January 5, 2010 5:49 pm at 5:49 pm #673904shtarkbocherMemberIts a beutiful song i think u should walk down to it
and bombmaniac- hes not showing off thats how he sings he has a really good voice what do you want him to do with it
January 5, 2010 6:49 pm at 6:49 pm #673905baal kishronParticipantNot only that the whole reason he posted that song in the first place is to show everybody the capabilities he has in singing, so that people will hire him to sing by their simchas. So of course he is gonna spruce up the song as much as possible, and agav i happen to like it
January 5, 2010 11:51 pm at 11:51 pm #673906bombmaniacParticipantim sorry you misunderstood me…i agree he has a beautiful voice! and i would buy his album 😀 however i think he should stick more to the original than try and make his own variation of it…in my opinion it ruins it a bit
January 6, 2010 9:43 am at 9:43 am #673907ladybugMemberyes – Vhi Sheamdah is very popular and yes people are walking down to it at weddings. Also, listen to Baruch Levine’s Ki hu – gorgeous song to walk down to!
January 6, 2010 2:32 pm at 2:32 pm #673909positiveaynayimMemberI’m curious to know–are there chassanim and kallahs (current and past) that prefer/preferred not only the instrumental music be beautiful and inspiring, but the words to the song as well? Wouldn’t it uplift such a moment of intense tefillah and bakosha?
February 6, 2010 10:35 pm at 10:35 pm #673911checkmate 27Membervhei shemodah was a hit song no doubt about that one
February 7, 2010 7:44 am at 7:44 am #673912PosterMemberI walked down to a beautiful Ani Mamin. Besides for the inspiring tune, the chupa is a time for remembering Yerushalayim and for begging Hashem for the geula. I do believe that the meaning of the song is very important. I also wanted to know who the producer was of this song, becuase they say that every singer puts his being, his beliefs and Kochos into the song he produces, it is for this reason that we should refrain from listening to secular music, and certainly during the most kadosh part of your life, who would want to walk down to a non jewish tune?!!!
February 8, 2010 1:36 pm at 1:36 pm #673913bored123ParticipantYes i walked down to it at my wedding and it was absolutely beautiful, we just changed the words to i think mi von siach and everyone commented on how beautiful it sounded, and like ladybug said Baruch Levine’s chi hu is also a stunning song and goes very well to the words of mi adir and i had that at my chupa too as i was walking around 7 times and then for im eshkachech we used MBD’s song – i cant remember properly but i think it was called Veaz yihyu – also a beautiful song
February 8, 2010 2:27 pm at 2:27 pm #673914noitallmrParticipantPoster- the producer is called Yonatan Razel. I personally thought that the song was too nice & professional to be jewish so I asked shwekey if it has any Non-jewish connections but he gauranteded me thats it’s 100% composed by Yonatan Razel.
