I haven’t seen this mentioned in any news source, but I don’t think Ukraine has heard the last from Viktor Yanukovych, the Ukrainian president who was illegally overthrown in a violent coup d’etat in 2014. He was chased out of the country at gunpoint, while he was the legally and democratically elected President of Ukraine. After the coup, the legislature (having ejected his supporters) purported to pass a law firing him with a simple majority vote of those allowed to attend and present, rather than the constitutional impeachment process, for which they lacked sufficient votes for.

After Russia defeats and removes the current Ukrainian government, which is the successor regime of what replaced the legal and recognized government of President Yanukovych, I think there’s a good probability that Yanukovych will return to Kiev to reclaim his presidency, which he still maintains is legally and constitutionally his position.

Remember that the OP also thinks that Israel is an Apartheid State. No surprise that he is siding with Putin, too, against Ukraine’s Jewish President who was elected in a free and fair election with 73% of the vote.

Let’s not forget that one of the posters here is a radical leftist liberal who, as is typical for that group, ascribes statements to people that were never made nor even intimated.

Yanukovych is accused of mass killings of civilians. He is the same evil person as Putin.

If my prediction is proven prescient, I may take a position as senior Kremlinologist on the National Security Council.

My prediction is Putin is going to be on trial for war crimes before Yanukovych steps a foot back into Ukraine.

Putin indeed had a plan to remove the legitimate Ukraine government and put their supporters in. That is why he is going directly to the capital thru Chernobyl. It seems that population is so much against Russia and has guns in their hands that such government would not be able to govern for long. It will be hard to find candidates for the dictator position. Ujm may want to apply, I think you can still fly through Switzerland. Ywn may be blocked in Russia, but do stay in touch.

Jackk, If I’m wrong, I’ll eat my hat.

And, trust me, I’ve never had to eat my hat before.

ujm, good, if you checked the heksher, you are already thinking about how it will go down .. take it with Ukrainian vodka. Maybe it will dissolve.

ujm, you seem to have good sources? there are unconfirmed reports today that Y is indeed currently in Belorus measuring a hat of Kievan princes. So, maybe your hat will survive.

Note that when I posted my OP here, there were absolutely no news reports to this effect.

Anyways, I need to take a call from the Council on Foreign Relations soon soliciting my input on the future of this conflict.

I still have my doubts. Y can now see how unwelcome he is. He will not have time to enjoy his palace and acquire more wealth. He can look at formerly independent Belorus dictator.

Here we are 6 months later and Russia is losing the war.

“Russia Announces Troop Pullback From Ukraine’s Kharkiv Area.” A political way of saying that Russia was devastated by an attack from the Ukrainian Army in the Kharkiv region and lost a very large swath of land, soldiers, and equipment. Ukraine is on the offensive.
The tide and outlook on the war has completely changed.
