Fox news projects the Republican will win.
    CNN & MSBN won’t project.
The polls say the the reason that the Democrat is losing is because he said – Parents shouldn’t have a say in their kids’ education.
    What do you think?

politics is like a pendulum, it keeps all sides in check.

If one side has to much power, they start passing legislation that is more extreme to their side, people don’t like it and they vote for the other party. This seems to be happening time after time.

It seems to be happening more when parties become more extreme, such as Trump and now the Democratic party with their agendas. This is how a democracy is supposed to work.

Trump was handed a massive loss.
A loss to his Big Lie that he really won in 2020.
A loss to every Republican still believing in the Big Lie.
How did Democrats lose so many races when they control the votes?!

@Reb E, Right now, on its website, the Virginia Department of Education recommends “Critical Race Theory in Education” as a “best practice” and derives its definitions of “racism,” “white supremacy,” and “education equity” explicitly from “critical race theory.”

    > is a cornerstone of modern yeshiva education

Open Bava Basra – the original (most desired by us) system during 2nd Beis Hamidash was for parent to teach kids. But not all could do it. Then, they went to “second best” – send kids to best, most inspiring, teachers – Cohanim in Yerushalaim. But not all were able to drive kids there. Third best – start teaching teenagers in regional centers (because teenagers were able to go on their own, but as far as Yerushalaim, as I recall, please correct if I am mixing it up). Then, we got something resembling cheder system – local teachers starting with 6 year olds. It was a great solution.

Modern times definitely open new technical opportunities to improve to better systems : Volozhin yeshiva went back to stage 3: teenagers at regional centers. Currently, we even have them going to Yerushalaim for a year or two (even if still not all can afford it, they still go). With recent growth in online tech, we can definitely move to the best possible one – parents teaching kids.

Let me know if you understand this Gemorah differently. I’d like to learn this further.

RebE > They don’t teach critical race theory in Virginia

Without getting involved into how politicians do rhetoric, there is a bigger point here: schools are not accountable, they exist on public money, they are mostly run by left-leaning boards and teachers, and they raise next generations of teachers, so things go downhill. Someone who run away from Hungarian commies should appreciate this bigger point – even if you may find some nekudos unpalatable and against your political leanings.

It is very impressive that election was won davka on the topic of education. So, the governor has a mandate to deal with education, which I think we all can agree is a critical issue for population, even if we do or do not care about public ed, and on specific methods. It is much better than people roused by passions about walls, black live matters, etc.

Seems like “white women” moved 15% towards R-. I would guess that mothers specifically were involved.

The Dems can try and rationalize MaCaullife’s loss to off-year elections going against the party in power in D.C. and his stupid comment about parents being excluded from having a role in their kid’s education which Youngkin quickly and effectively exploited. Both are true. However, if they don’t quickly realize that their core constituency is not as far left as they have been assuming, they will lose big in 2022 and even worse in 2024. They can turn it around but that will also mean a hard turn back to the center.

RE -“He won on a lie. They don’t teach critical race theory in Virginia public schools”

The only liars here are the DemonCrats!
They tried to fool the Virginian Voters but they failed.
It looks like that they aren’t as Stupid as NY & NJ & other Leftist States.
From the Right – Wing News:
“Virginia Democrat gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe has repeatedly denied that critical race theory is taught in the state even though, under his administration from 2014-2018, the Virginia Education Department explicitly pushed public schools to “embrace critical race theory” and “engage in race-conscious teaching and learning.”

“This is how a democracy is supposed to work.”

One party is using mainstream news organizations and social media to spread misinformation, suppress facts and opinions they don’t like, and intimidate people who disagree with them.

That’s not how a democracy is supposed to work.

How did Democrats lose so many races when they control the votes?!

Democrats know that the country is watching them very carefully over this issue. Better that they lose one governorship and look truthful so that next year when they there is so much more at stake, they’ll be able to pull of a 2020 again. (This isn’t me saying this, I heard this on the radio, yesterday, before the results were coming in, explaining why the democrats are OK with losing Virginia). It is all a game.

“This isn’t me saying this, I heard this on the radio, yesterday….”

And I read the same thing on the internet, therefore it must be true!!

Sometimes, its really hard to tell that some actually believe this stuff. Virginia has gone back and forth in off-year elections for the past 20+ years. There was no fraud in the 2020 cycle in Virginia (or any of the other states the Trumpkopfs keeping claiming) and there was none in 2021 (either planned or real). Youngkin won because he ran a smart campaign and his opponent tried to make the election a referendum on Trump while making stupid blunders. These conspiracy theories get more stupid as time goes on.
If the Presidential election were held tomorrow, Biden would lose big-time simply because of the ineptness shown by his Administration and the Dems in Congress since he took office. Nothing to do with election “fraud”, “voter supression” etc.

“One party is using mainstream news organizations and social media to spread misinformation, suppress facts and opinions they don’t like, and intimidate people who disagree with them.”

Both parties are utilizing whatever means they have to further their agenda and win. It is a democracy since people are the deciding factor as to which party should be in control. You can push an extreme agenda only so far, things eventually balance out. It seems that as one party takes control and pushes their agenda, there is pushback from the population and they lose control.

Also, that assumes that elections are fair and impartial. That’s not the case when voters are not required to properly identify themselves as registered voters when casting ballots. That’s not the case when ballots are mass-mailed to the population and insufficient measures are taken to authenticate the ballots. And that’s not the case when millions of illegal aliens are dumped into the country and allowed to vote (which is the Democrats’ obvious goal).

    NBLA,

I don’t care what some idiot said. Democrats never lose on purpose. If they do , then all the pundits can shut up about Biden and Democrats losing support.

The Trump Motto is : “When Democrats win it is cheating and when Republicans win it is because Democrats let them”.

Do you believe this statement, ” I am not a believer in the integrity of Virginia’s elections, lots of bad things went on, and are going on.” ?

Trump himself said this before the election setting up his supporters for another loss due to him.

    DovidBT,

Illegal aliens are not allowed to vote.
Mass sending out of ballots does not mean that your dog can vote and send it back.
There are procedures to ensure that everyone votes once. That is why Trump still can’t produce any evidence of voter fraud.

As was once said during the Senate debate over a really unqualified and “mediocre” nominee for the Supreme Court with undistinguished academic credentials and nondescript career
“Even mediocre Americans are entitled to representation [on the Supreme Court].

The New Jersey legislature has never been a bastion of legislative greatness. On the other hand, we have seen the enlightenment provided in the House by a former bartender from the Bronx/Queens other than good social media skills.

Syag: Sorry if my rather obvious sarcasm was lost in translation. I doubt that even my “progressive” friends believe that AOC has contributed to any real “progress” in their agenda in the House other than perhaps providing occasional social media diversions to some of the equally useless Republicans like MGT. They could have given Dems something to run on 2 months ago by passing the infrastructure bill, although Tuesday’s losses went much deeper than that.

Your post would be logical if the DemonCrats were honest.
But since Trump won they tried for 3 years to impeach him.
That didn’t work, so they decided to Steal the Next election!
Stealing an election takes time, in order so the ones who are doing it, won’t get caught.
So the DemonCrats aren’t gonna put in the time to steal – for a State election.

Charlie, last time you posted – Trump lost Loudon county by 24 points (17 in 2016), so it seems that the school board issue worked, l’zhut parents. Note that given that only some citizen really care about schools at particular times and general polarization, a 10% move in population is dramatic. Still Youngkin and school boards need to acknowledge help from Presidents Biden and Obama whose visits and visions contributed to this victory.

Yes, the 2020 stolen election claims should be forgotten. But why has Stacy Abrams been able to build a career on claims of a stolen election and Hillary has kept calling her 2016 loss fraudulent?

Abrams raised some legit questions about voter suppression in Georgia, which probably would not have changed the outcome. Hillary Clintons ramblings already have been forgotten by everyone except Hillary.

What ive found most distasteful are the post election commentaries on MSNBC, CNN and the networks , particularly Joy Reid. From the extended clips that I’ve seen, ths loss by the Democrats was due to racist voters. Education was a dig whistle for white supremacy. What none of them mentioned was that the “racist” dog whistling voters also elected the first black woman to state wide office ( L t Governor ) in Virginia history.

BTW, Reb Eliezer before you call someone a liar re Critical Race Theory, make sure you’re not getting all your facts from CNN.

    #2025371

    > ths loss by the Democrats was due to racist voters.

In addition the Lt Gov, the argument is specious. With their premise, all racists already voted for Trump. Where did additional 10% of population of racists come from!? And also many happened to be women and minorities. People whom RebE was watching are in denial that there are people out there who do not agree with them.

Anon -“Education was a dig whistle for white supremacy.”

That’s what the far Left is trying to Stuff down everyones’ throat.
But the Virginians’ that vote with Moderation, didn’t buy it.
Even though – they voted overwhelmingly for Biden over Trump.
They also voted for DemonCrat Governor the last few times.

So come the Midterms & the next Presidential election, if the DemonCrats keep pushing CRT & other far left policies, especially when it comes to education, the DemonCrats will Lose Big Time!
