front load uses much less energy, and cleans better. There are larger rebates from many utilities on the front-loaders.

Front loaders ue less water and less energy and have many more wash cycles, buttons, light etc.. The top loaders are very basic and simple to use. I have a new, expensive front loader, I am not thrilled with it. My parents have an old Maytag top loader, honestly, they dont make ’em the way they used to. I love my parents simple, easy to use, but super machine.

i just got a frigidaire front loader and I absolutely love it!They do clean better, and are more efficient- just make sure if you buy one to take out the shipping bolts! without that, your machine will jump around like crazy- and don’t assume the plumber or delivery man will take them out!

I hear front loaders clean a lot better.

And btw, they’re nicer too in case that’s also taken into consideration!

I have a front loader washer and dryer for 4 years now. It’s true that they use less energy and you can put large items in the washer. The problem is that if you need service all the parts are extremely expensive! I just had a repair guy a few weeks ago and he said unless you must have these huge machines he doesn’t recommend them because the parts and labor are so expensive.

I always joked that it keeps the kids busy as they sit there and watch the clothes go round ‘n round
