How have you spent the last few days of your life in the blizzard? A brief run down would be appreciated.

I went to my parents for lunch on Monday. I dressed for the weather, took my time getting there, and really enjoyed the snow before it turned to a grey, slusshy mess.

Tuesday was back to work (waah!)

Monday- I shoveled and had snowball fights in the morning….and later went for a nice walk. And there was no stopping for red lights, we just walked straight for like 20 blocks!

    Tuesday- Back to work

Your “shidduch market value” just went up 500%, Blinky. All we need now, is a sample of your potato kugel, and we can check off all the boxes!

Oh, so THATS who nailed me on Monday 🙁

Just the opposite? Not in my world. If you don’t love the outdoors, its gonna be a real tough adjustment joining our family.

Let me guess, you roller-blade /ice skate too, right?

Well i used to roller blade, and ice skating was for special occasions but i can’t remember the last time i touched either of those, but i like the outside and the cold- its so refreshing during the winter!

Still, should a date suggest Rockefeller Center or Chelsa Piers, its nice to know you can say yes!

    #726901

Woha! Saying “yes” so quick? Just for suggesting a date? He might not have the ring yet…

I meant, saying “yes” to the skating suggestion, but I like your way of thinking, TMB!

I’m pretty sure I’ll have work tomorow. I think the city will do its utmost to clean the train lines / major roads to take some of the heat off of last month’s fiasco

Unless you work for a school (which, if you’re so taking a snow day as a forgone conclusion, most likley is the case), be prepared for business as usual.

So, Blinky, what grade do you have?

    #726905

Work, work, work (remotely, can’t get into office).

It doesn’t have to be during work hours you know…

You’re avoiding the question, but that’s ok 😀

By the time I get back to BP, the snow will be a grey, slushy mess, so I don’t think I can join in round 2.

I sit at the window with a hot cocoa, toasty slippers,

pointing and laughing at the view.

j/k I don’t point that would be impolite.

    Blinky- ur a girl right?

BP – didn’t u say once that you work from home?

Last blizzard- i went out twice a day to check on the progress with my car, each time i would shovel a little. I watched a million movies, and caught up on all my shows, was bored to death, and more than happy to go back to work, only on Thursday!!!!! was pathetic!

No. In fact, I can’t even log in from home. If I’m not here in the office, I’m not in the CR.

Clean the house immaculately. Make sure the kitchen is well stocked. Cook the most gourmet healthy hardy winter soups. Start knitting, and reading books to the kids, and share old photos with the family, remembering the memories.

snow days are great days to make calls for shidduchim (cause everyone is home). Cleaning, laundry, baking, cooking, and spring cleaning a little early!

Did some shoveling. Gave up after three shovelsful. Tried again. Went back inside and made LOTS of hot cocoa (from scratch, btw), telling myself I had EARNED it. Started to go out to try to shovel again, then reminded myself I am not 15 anymore (or even 35) and that the snow really isn’t THAT bad, and it’s really pretty…Decided to take a nap instead.
