I saw this and wanted to share it to see what others think about it..

Question: Sometimes I feel like when I get so frustrated and everything is going wrong, Hashem is sitting up in Heaven laughing at me. Is he really? Is he really? I kind of know He’s not, but then when I try to talk to Him, I don’t hear His answer so it makes me feel alone and insecure?

My Answer: I know EXACTLY what your talking about! It happens to me too. Sometimes ill plan something, or something will happen to me and I get this feeling of total frustration and bemet, I mamesh feel like Hashem is looking down laughing at me from the highest place in Shamayim. HOWEVER, that laughter is not a place of spite or ridicule, or laughter preceding a failure. Let me explain..

Imagine a parent giving a little toddler a present that is wrapped, or a present that is enclosed by a box, which is in another box, and another box. The parents smile sweetly while they watch the child open the gift, and struggling with the paper/boxes. Why? They know the child will get to the present, and they know the child will find happiness and excitement with it. The child on the other hand is frustrated, wants instant gratification, and wants to get to the present immediately. Then, once the child reaches the gift, suddenly the frustration doesn’t mean so much anymore, and he is left with the joy the present gives him. Hashem does the same with us. I really feel like this is the emes. Hashem is the parent, and we are the frustrated child. He gives us tests, or makes us go through something and He IS smiling at us-but from the greatest form of love possible. Its just very hard to see it and to internalize sometimes.

The smallest example that comes to mind is: imagine you drop a cup on the kitchen floor, and as you bend down to pick it up, you hit your head on the open drawer that you thought was closed. Then you pour your drink in the new cup you got for yourself and the drink spills all over your freshly washed outfit. Is Hashem laughing? Maybe. Because He’s showing you that you don’t control anything. He knows why it happened to you. It could be a kaparah for something and He’s laughing because He sweetened it, who knows. There WAS a good reason for it. BUT I think who ever feels this laughter is at a higher level than you think because you DO feel this. Its not that He’s not answering you. He davka IS answering you by having that feeling. Next time you are frustrated and feel Him laughing, stop being upset, laugh at yourself too. Look up and say, “Yes I know this is funny. Thank You. I love You!”. It REALLY helps and brings you close to Him which is the goal of life.

    Excellent post.

    (sort of related)

People ask why they are tested with certain things when they fail anyway. A child first learns to turn over, then crawl, then stand, and then he takes two steps. And then he falls. The people standing and watching start clapping. The child is thinking (well…) of all times to be clapping?! Just after he falls?! He doesn’t realize the parents aren’t clapping because he fell, they’re clapping because he managed to stay steady for two steps.

In order for a person to learn to dance, they need to learn to walk first.
