I was by my inlaws for seder and i asked where the other part of the wing is and my MIL said its a chicken neck. I said my family uses a wing (she thought I was lying) because zoreah means arm and the wing is part of the chickens arm. I asked my father about this and he said it’s brought down in Mishneah Bruya but forgot the reason. Does anybody know why a chicken neck and what else do YOU use besides a wing, neck, or shakebone ?? Are there more opinions in what to use for zoreah ????

    Thanx

We used a leg of lamb. It tasted pretty good today too.

Z’roa. Zore’ah means seeding befoe planting. Anything with a bone is ok.

Pickeled beet spears. Once something is for a zecher, anything can be invested with meaning and association. It also has great color to it, tastes much better, and we eat what is on the seder plate.
