C.S. yes, Bonover Kdushath Zion was murdered in the Holocaust by the Nazis and their Ukrainian assistants in the woods on the outskirts of Lvov – shot together with 2,000 other Yiden hy”d.

Anyone learned by Immanuel Kant? Maybe he witnessed Moses Mendelsohn visiting the philosopher? Someone recorded how the door of the auditorium opened and suddenly a very inappropriately dressed Jew with a hunchback entered the room for some reason. Before students were able to shoo him away. Kant stopped lecturing and ran to greet MM.

I thought that the חכם צבי was Rov of the קהיךות אה”ו Altona Hamburg Wurzburg, which are in west Germany

Grandpa Zushy [not the rebbe R’ zusha, his gggs and my ggf] grew up near Lemberg, and he related that they once brought an African guy to advertise shoe polish. Many people made a brocho משנה הבריות but Grandpa was convinced it was just shoe polish and didn’t. Only later in life did he realize that it was for real.

Just one more, AHU stands for Wanzibeck , not Wuerzberg, ( where Rav Bamberger was Ruv)

When I think of Mariupol or as we know it Mariampol, I think of the Gaon Hageonim Reb Eliyahu Klatzkin who later went to EY and I am sure you know what happened by his levayah.

Yes, but in ת”ע I believe it was when חכם צבי did move to Levov (Lemberg).
