What would the nationality be of a person born in Haifa, on Mount Carmel, in 1937.
Thank you.November 18, 2012 12:40 am at 12:40 am #907366icedMember

At the time a Palestinian with some British rights. If you left prior to May 14, 1948, I suspect that you wouldn’t have qualified for Israeli citizenship. Unless you immigrated to the United Kingdom by a certain date, you would have lost a claim for British nationality but quite qualify for a British passport saying you are a British national without right of residence in the UK.If you moved to the US pre-1948, but neglected to pick up American citizenship, and it turned out weren’t eligible (say, if you are a felon), it would be an interesting question whether the Israelis would let you in when the US deported you as an illegal undesirable alien.November 18, 2012 1:17 am at 1:17 am #907368yungerman123Participant

If they were included in the 1952 population registration then they would have Israeli citizenship, otherwise they would be stateless.November 18, 2012 1:12 pm at 1:12 pm #907371zahavasdadParticipant

Coffee & Dash, they used to have Jordanian citizenship but Hussein revoked it when he renunced Jordanian claims. They are now stateless.November 18, 2012 5:44 pm at 5:44 pm #907373HealthParticipant
dmez – Unfortunately the Zionists like to claim any Jew living in EY is an Israeli citizen, even if born in Palestine. I knew Yerushalmies that were upset with this -they weren’t born in Israel and they didn’t want to become Israeli citizens, but the Zionist Gov. considered them citizens anyway.November 18, 2012 6:25 pm at 6:25 pm #907374icedMember
Nationality is not determined by where a person is born. If an American is visiting Beijing and she goes into labor and delivers her baby there, the child is American not Chinese.
