July 26, 2011 3:46 am at 3:46 am #794982deiyezoogerMemberB’shah tovah!!
July 26, 2011 3:48 am at 3:48 am #794983OfcourseMemberHopefully, iyH, seeing a new day, every day, out of my own familiar windows, as opposed to seeing it through the windows of the many uptown hospitals.
July 26, 2011 3:50 am at 3:50 am #794984Derech HaMelechMemberOh its just a baby. Nothing more boring than bringing a new life into this world.
My wife always says she wants to go somewhere. But I’m a homebody.
July 26, 2011 3:55 am at 3:55 am #794985YW Moderator-20ModeratorNo vacation for me. I’m staying home to keep an eye on multiple Josephs here. Quite a handful, eh?
July 26, 2011 4:00 am at 4:00 am #794986kapustaParticipantMy wife always says she wants to go somewhere. But I’m a homebody.
Old joke:
My wife told me to take her someplace new. I took her to the kitchen. ?
July 26, 2011 4:43 am at 4:43 am #794987haifagirlParticipantOne thing that is a lot of fun is to learn English. If you do that, you’ll know there is no such word as “funnest.”
July 26, 2011 5:28 am at 5:28 am #794988always runs with scissors fastParticipantHa ha ha – a girl from haifa has to correct my english!. Since becoming Chassidishe my English is as good – its true or maybe its mommy brain?.
Derech Ha Melech, it’s not that having a baby is boring, it’s just that I ACTUALLY WANT TO GO SOMEWHERE.
besides for the nice view from the surgical table in the 4 star O.R where i recieved 1st class treatment and later recuperated , and that DEFINATELY was refreshing as i had many quiet hours to reflect and have hakirus hatoiv for all the brachas in my life, and feeling thankful that i am still amongst the living- being that i just went through GIVING BIRTH …. which is a life & DEATH situation.
that would all make for an interesting title to write an essay entitled “what I did on my summer vacation” for a class.
July 26, 2011 12:01 pm at 12:01 pm #794989happiestMember@haifagirl, I actually am pretty sure that “funnest” was recently added to the dictionary but I could be mixing it up with another word.
July 26, 2011 1:09 pm at 1:09 pm #794990zahavasdadParticipantGoing to Italy
July 26, 2011 3:25 pm at 3:25 pm #794991bptParticipantSince giving birth is not an option, I’ll settle for plan B (which is tubing down the Esopus)
July 26, 2011 3:31 pm at 3:31 pm #794992aries2756ParticipantIt is “funny” how “funnest” has somehow reared its head and snuck in.
Scissors, B’sha’ah tova. I wish you a speedy “delivery” and speedy recovery>
The “funnest” thing I do in the summer is teach my grandchildren how to swim. Nachas, nachas, nachas.

…im gonna be….working this summer. yay. whoo.hoo.
July 26, 2011 8:57 pm at 8:57 pm #795004minyan galMemberMy “funnest” thing is still going to shul for the morning minyan. Have to try not to sleep in (never happens) as the numbers are down with so many people at the lake. Actually, it is a wonderful way to begin the day and the coffee klatch (aka kiddush) afterward keeps everyone up to date on all sorts of news. However, I think that early fall will be a great time as I think I will go to my kids for the Yomtovim. THAT is always wonderful, plus I don’t have to cook (at least not as much as if I am having a dozen people for the holidays).
July 26, 2011 9:10 pm at 9:10 pm #795005The last RebelMemberHave fun all you working people!!
July 26, 2011 9:20 pm at 9:20 pm #795006haifagirlParticipantHa ha ha – a girl from haifa has to correct my english!. Since becoming Chassidishe my English is as good – its true or maybe its mommy brain?.
Of course I have to. Nobody else seems to want to. And by the way, I’m a girl from Haifa (with a capital H) and I teach English (with a capital E).
Your English is as good as what?
“It’s” should have an apostrophe (in both places), and you don’t need a period after an exclamation point or a question mark.
besides for the nice view from the surgical table in the 4 star O.R where i recieved 1st class treatment and later recuperated , and that DEFINATELY was refreshing as i had many quiet hours to reflect and have hakirus hatoiv for all the brachas in my life, and feeling thankful that i am still amongst the living- being that i just went through GIVING BIRTH …. which is a life & DEATH situation.
You really should start your sentences with a capital letter. Also, “I” is always capitalized. “‘I’ before ‘e,’ except after ‘c’ . . .” Take a look at “received.”
Then again, “definitely” could definitely use some help, too.
that would all make for an interesting title to write an essay entitled “what I did on my summer vacation” for a class.
I’m not even going to try to tackle that sentence.
Have a great summer.
July 26, 2011 9:32 pm at 9:32 pm #795008The last RebelMemberSeriously???
July 26, 2011 11:56 pm at 11:56 pm #795009always runs with scissors fastParticipantHaifa, you saw that I CAN write the world English with a Capitol “E” because in one instance I did so! So my point is that it is not that I am incapable, but rather didn’t know that grammer, punctuation and spelling really counted in the CR!
WHoa,, I will have to watch myself around. But why am I the only poster you are picking on ?
And whats wrong with he sentence:
that would all make for an interesting title to write an essay entitled “what I did on my summer vacation” for a class.
Tell me. It makes sense as far as cognition is concerned. I mean I expect you can figure out what I am saying no?
July 27, 2011 12:19 am at 12:19 am #795010am yisrael chaiParticipant“didn’t know that grammer, punctuation and spelling really counted in the CR!”
That would be “grammar” 🙂
July 27, 2011 12:24 am at 12:24 am #795011am yisrael chaiParticipant“But why am I the only poster you are picking on ?”
Haifagirl doesn’t discriminate against posters, only grammatically incorrect posts.

July 27, 2011 12:25 am at 12:25 am #795012am yisrael chaiParticipantApparently the most funnest thing I’ll be doing this summer is attempting to solve some riddles on that thread…(sigh)
July 27, 2011 1:38 am at 1:38 am #795016Derech HaMelechMemberActually I always wanted to go to the Living Torah museum, but in the past, he was always upstate when I would be in America.
August 3, 2011 6:48 am at 6:48 am #795020MiddlePathParticipantTurns out the Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival is during the 9 days, and I therefore won’t be going. Oh well. It’s probably for the best. I’ll find something else later in the summer.
August 3, 2011 12:07 pm at 12:07 pm #795021RavKahaneTzadakMemberPlan on attending Glenn Becks Restoring Courage rally in Jerusalem on Aug 24.
Tubing down the Jordan.

Wine factory.
Chocolate factory.

Deaf museum.
Atving.
Horseback riding.
Relaxing and doing nothing the rest of the time…
August 3, 2011 1:21 pm at 1:21 pm #795022ursula momishMemberTo enter a few posts late, since when did “besides for” become standard usage? It’s all over the Jewish papers. What was wrong with “aside from” or “except for” or just plain “besides”?
As you can see, the most fun thing for me this summer is being crotchety. Perhaps I will start crocheting instead. Better than knitting my brow with worry.
August 4, 2011 3:15 am at 3:15 am #795023always runs with scissors fastParticipantwhat does ursula mean?
August 4, 2011 4:05 am at 4:05 am #795024ursula momishMemberIn the context of this thread, it means “cranky old lady who needs to work on her middos and not get annoyed by little things such as children and misused phrases.” In general usage, it’s a name. It’s the feminine Latin word for bear. It’s not my actual first name, though.
August 4, 2011 4:53 am at 4:53 am #795025WIYMemberUrsula
So your id means momma bear?
August 4, 2011 12:42 pm at 12:42 pm #795026ShrekParticipantshlepping back and forth to the mountains, fighting traffic every Friday and Sunday. Can’t beat that for entertainment.

August 4, 2011 4:47 pm at 4:47 pm #795028TheGoqParticipantWasn’t Ursula the evil octopus from the little mermaid?
August 4, 2011 5:28 pm at 5:28 pm #795029ursula momishMemberFortunately I have only the usual two arms, so obviously we are not related. Anyway, I prefer to be inspired by and referenced to Ursula Lehmann, who used to write for Olomeinu.

August 5, 2011 12:22 pm at 12:22 pm #795032ZachKessinMemberSo my point is that it is not that I am incapable, but rather didn’t know that grammer, punctuation and spelling really counted in the CR!
Grammar, punctuation and spelling always count! Being able to write well is about the most important skill you can have.
As for the most fun thing I’m doing this summer… We made a wedding last month but for the rest of the summer, it will be job hunting. Before someone asks for me Job hunting has been a lot of fun!
August 5, 2011 11:10 pm at 11:10 pm #7950336HZ1W3JParticipanti enjoyed the drive from fort liard to yellowknife by myself. 784km,30hrs. gravel/dirt roads most of the way, saw about 3 cars the first day. many herds of buffalo.
