SJSinNMYC, do not think you know it all because you are MO. I am a BT with a very extensive secular education. I was brought up as a militant atheist.
There ARE proofs for athiests. The counter-proofs are like the staffs of the Pharo’s servants. If one wants to see the truth, one could. If one does not, one could deceive oneself, as Pharo did.
If there were no proofs, how could a person be faulted for being a kofer?
I don’t know what schools you people go to…
Of course, there are some teachers who will answer your questions with, “A yid is not allowed to speak that way,” or “C”V to even think like that,” but there are others who will direct you to appropriate sources for answers.
My kids go to more Yeshivish schools than the one I attended, but their schools pour on the warmth and love of Yidden and Yiddishkeit, something my school had not done.
tomim tihye – maybe there are good schools out there. But just make sure that that’s really what they’re doing and your kids feel that way because schools can be two-faced!!! If your kids ever complain or anything, listen to them! There is some truth to what they’re saying!!!
