If I in full good faith send money for a Yeshua from a big Ruv based on his accompanying promises, guarantees, signed contracts, Rulings of a specially convened Bais Din, & Piskei Halacha issued and this Yeshua doesn’t materialize can I take this Ruv to a Bais Din & recover my money?

please quote for us the exact lashon used in the “promises, guarantees, signed contracts.”
    usually there is an out.
plus, Hashem always does what is best

I actually had the same question many years ago,
but trusted friends advised me to NOT sent any money, so I never did.

My advice: Ask your local Beth Din, not the YWN Coffee Room.

You obviously knew that he couldn’t guarantee anything that was outside his control, and it was on that basis that you gave the money.

The gemara in Rosh Hashona says explicitly that the reason it is permitted to give tzedakah in order to achieve a specific outcome is that a yid understands that Hashem always does what’s best, and if he doesn’t get the outcome he wanted he doesn’t complain and demand his money back. Whereas a nochri doesn’t understand that, and thinks that the tzedoka is a transaction, consideration for services to be rendered, and if Hashem doesn’t render those services he feels cheated. And therefore the gemara says a nochri is not allowed to make such a donation, while a yid is.

I understand that in this case your complaint is not against Hashem but against the person who you allege made “promises”, but since you knew in advance that he doesn’t control Hashem, it amounts to the same thing, and you wanting your money back seems like the behavior that the gemara ascribes to nochrim.

Milhouse: This isn’t the only post of this OP/posters comments that can easily be ascribed to being similar behavior as the nochrim.

Again “nochrim” name calling. Do you ever have anything educational to say or just name-calling. Get a life

No, you do not get your money back, because any promise is not possible. (Hey, if he could have that power, why not give himself the money straight, without you needing to pay him?) Maybe there might be some slight merit in a tzaddik declaring that you ought to get a yeshua, or a beis din. Maybe. But no one can promise anything and actually deliver, aside from Hashem.

Rambam puts out criteria for a Navi that includes everything positive being fulfilled up to a minute detail. So, if someone claimed to have access to Hashem’s proprietary information and then failed, he has bigger problems with beis din than monetary payments.

Ujm constantly name calling. Calm down. Saying someone is a nochri just makes you sound imichure. Bring an argument to the table at least to refute points or your own thought out oppinions otherwise you sound mad

Considering that OP did not reply to BaltimoreMaven’s question for nearly a week, I’m going to assume that this was largely trollery and everyone hurting their own feelings (or other people’s feelings) are just wasting time.
