Daas Yochid writes: “Chicken fat ripple with one scoop liver chip.”

I disagree: liver is unhealthy. If you don’t like chicken fat ripple (which, if kosher, has no real cream), try lasagna fudge, made with real cream.

I use vegetable liver. Which is a fascinating discussion on its own; most people don’t know that vegetables have livers.

I was inspired by the sound of the Mod 80 skunk ice cream so I asked for an Obama Brain flavor ice cream. But they said it has not been invented yet…

I used to buy the Australian Licorice in NY, since my husband liked it, I’m not such a sweet toothbut once I tried it and I loved it!!, when I came here I realised how stale that was compared to the stuff here. when I go home I’m bringing the fresh stuff back!

Sorry DY but with all those ice cream smudges on my computer it was difficult to read. Anyways would YOU clean a computer that had skunk ice cream shmeared all over it?

And if we have digressed onto licorice then I’ll tell you another deer joke. Not about how deer ice cream has become in the economic climate, not about how deer my favorite flavor is to me. But this one:

What do you call a deer with no eyes? No eyed deer. And what do you call a deer with no eyes and no legs? Still no eyed deer

    #1194497

What’s the licorice from Australia called? Maybe I should try it.

Wolf, you would pick arsenic. But would it be with or without old lace. (10 points for someone who gets the obscure reference of the day). My fave? Pistachio. Second? Butter Pecan. Third? Haagen Daz Coffee. Fourth…..ok, so I like almost every flavor. but maybe not garlic. I haven’t found a kosher supplier yet but who knows.

I get the points. It’s one of my favorite movies.

Should I mix it with some elderberry wine?

My favorite ice cream is Twix ice cream. My biggest weakness.

Yes! Elderberry wine indeed! ☺ Best drunk on the Panama Canal, is it not, with just a pinch of… ☺

And before I charge up the stairs, let me tell DY that the licorice is called Darrel Lea (I think). But beware… it is more addictive than coffee!!

This thread has gone real quiet. Seems you all prefer strawberry or raspberry or cranberry or blackberry to Huckelberry…??? Come on, is Huckleberry Gin not your favorite childhood thing?

All flavors are basically mutated vanilla. ‘Cept for vanilla, in most cases.

Oh, I love that movie! I thought it was hilarious but my sister was freaked out by Jonathan and Dr. Einstein.

I bet I’m the youngest person to get the reference!

My favorite flavor is unquestionably anything with chocolate. Preferably really good-quality chocolate ice cream with brownie chunks and hot fudge sauce. (Don’t gag, it’s awesome)

If not, then vanilla brownie chunk layered with caramel sauce in a sugar cone topped with chocolate syrup.

You are. And the oldest too. Because you’re the only poster who has commented on my invention. Huckelberry for sure the berry that gives ME the most pleasure. The ice cream is best enjoyed with (may I say this?) dark chocolate, down the Mississippi River!

Shticky Guy- Not knocking huckleberry ice cream or anything but—

    Ohhh. πŸ™‚

    That’s cute.

But I was referring (as you probably figured out) to Arsenic and Old Lace, not Huckleberry, um, Gin.

    #1194519

writersoul – sure I figured you were refering to arsenic and lace but I hoped we could share a private joke and pretend it was about huckleberry finn. I never even saw the movie on hf but the story, when I read it eons ago, was amazing. Now you’ve outed that you were talking about arsenic+lace which kinda poisoned my idea.

But after looking at some of the daft flavors on this thread, its time to propose a few more. Who would try…:

    charcoal & chilli pepper

    garlic & soybean

    seaweed & spinach

    wasabi & yogurt

    coconut & curry

    cholent, sausage & steak

    mint & mayo

or for those who prefer sharp flavors, how about my favorite:

    cactus & noodle

Mine is definitely coffee flavor! But I haven’t had milchig ice cream in two years. Sadly I can not have it. And pareve ice cream is not worth it.

    Ohhhhhh….. πŸ™‚

Sorry about that. I’m in midterm mode.

But it was very cute! And I haven’t seen the movie either, just read the book. And yes, it was great.

Those flavors sound delicious! My dad actually once put ketchup and mustard on his ice cream once. And my mom ate a whole lump of wasabi because she thought it was guacamole, but that’s a whole ‘nother story.

Also, I know someone who made really good homemade ice cream and flavored it with whole mint leaves. It was awesome- the mint was strong in some places and more vanilla-y in others, and the minty parts were a gorgeous color.

My favorite ice cream is almost all of them. Gold medal was white chocolate, milk chocolate and dark chocolate – I used to love that. Pistachio and double dark chocolates are a no-thank-you.

Extra points if it’s in milk shake form.

    Popa-flavored ice cream.

And that’s how you make a reference so people don’t know

it’s a reference, and it can’t be Googled, either.
