I ask them is this like the no soap radio joke and they get insulted. Is it my problem that your joke has no punchline?

I think there is a certain Mitzva in the Torah that rhymes with Chasodim. It must be, um, Gemilas Chasodim. That’s right, Gemilas Chasodim. Oh. There’s also an Aveira that they calll, Ona’ah.

If you want to really feel smart, rack your brain to come up with something that will actually save the moment and make it funny or smart, or whatever he was trying to accomplish. Believe, it is a much bigger Kuntz to avoid insult than to cause it.

Good luck. Please be Mochel for my openning bark.

Not all jokes have punchlines. Think about non-sequiturs.

Did you know that if you took all the arteries from your body and laid them end-to-end, you’d probably die because you would have no arteries.

If you were stranded on an island and you could only bring ONE food with you, you better hope you get rescued.

When that happens, I usually smile, maybe chuckle if i can, and say “good one!”

If I heard a pointless joke, I would smile and say, “Keep your day job.” If it was offensive, I would ask them why they thought it was funny, because I didn’t. If I just didn’t get it, I would possibly ask them to repeat it or explain it to me. I have a good sense of humor, I think, and typically DO get most jokes. I am a Pun-loving fool, and appreciate most forms of humor. I am NOT one who finds it funny when someone slips on a banana peel, BUT I can laugh at myself (and frequently HAVE to).

To oomis: Slipping on a banana peel is funny if I don’t get hurt.

And funnier if you do get hurt.

Laughing when someone falls is a natural, instinctive human reaction. You can ask a psychologist for his explanation, or a look at relevant Torah sources for ours, but it does NOT show that a person is callous.

Making someone feel foolish for telling a lame joke, however, certainly does.

LAB, the second part is the punch line.

It’s only funny when its not you.

Also it’s funny till someone gets hurt…then its hilarious!!
