    I don’t understand how people don’t realize how harmful it can be to mix manhigei Yisroel into local politics.
    What happens when a politician’s efforts hurt the tzibbur? The Manhig that endorsed him is blamed & the Torah is in the mud. I don’t blame the manhigim because sometimes the people around them give them bad advice, but maybe it would be healthier for the tzibbur to decide directly who should represent them. This way, if things don’t work out, our manhigim aren’t the korbon.
