I live on 16th and 53rd, would there be a better place to live in the whole world.

But my life is different than it was before.

Because a new neighbor just moved in next door.

He looks and sounds different, a yichtege sefardi,

So I’ll ignore him, and he’ll ignore me!

Thought of it when I saw the title.

Outside of Brooklyn. Which gives me the right to sneer and look down at anyone in Brooklyn. Else why would I not live there? And what would else would I mock? Living together with the 10 other Jews in my town makes me feel bigger. After all, in the Jewish world there is Brooklyn and there is elsewhere.

I don’t live in Brooklyn, but no, I don’t think it gives me the right to sneer at or make fun of the Bklyners. I find it disturbing that so many ppl here feel free to snort at the mention of Brooklyn. How can I condemn somebody(s) who isn’t perfect when I myself am not perfect(striving to, but not yet…)? Brooklyn is a real torahdike place and a lot of Yidden live there. I really think it’s not right to speak badly of so many Yidden.

GO CHICAGO!! Although I make aliyah twice a year to visit my not-so-fortunate-to-be-out-of Flatbush family, and we are WAITING for the day we can make a REAL ALIYAH on an “EAGLES WINGS” very soon, IY”H. Yeshuas Hashem K’Heref Ayin!

It doesn’t make a difference whether they can handle it or not. WE shouldn’t tolerate it. I think it’s lashon hara, isn’t it? Correct me if I’m wrong.

Those who made smug comments above about not living in Brooklyn, could at least express regret for their contempt.

Waiter, you should certainly be proud to live in a Mokom B’Torah but to call Lakewood Ir Hatorah is a little condescending B”H Torah is learned in the 4 corners of the world and fortunately Torah Study abounds all over the globe as never before, every city, town, neighborhood, should be equally as proud of its Torah learning.

I assumed they were commenting on the city not the people.

Regardless of what your stand on things is, you should give praise for your own, but not put down others.

    mbacher,

Rabbi Y.S. is a big part of the community. he gives the daf yomi shiur. His son started the jewish boy scouts of America. I hope this is enough hints I might just know your family also, being there sometimes for yom tov. not so often though.

In a boro that isn’t Brooklyn. But don’t think I’m a snob, I married a man from Brooklyn, and a good chunk of his family still live there.
