    Hi,

I am from out of town and was wondering where I can take a girl on a 1st date if she is from monsey…

If the CR can provide some ideas that would be much appreciated….

    Thanks!

Courtyard Marriott 100 Chestnut Ridge Road in Montvale, NJ. They have a nice lounge that’s good for a first meeting. Its about 10-15 minute drive from Monsey.

That reminds me of when I came in to Monsey from out of town to go out with a boy from….well,NOT Monsey either. He spent at least an hour driving in circles until I finally told him he should just park in the nearest parking lot, please. So we shmoozed until it was time to get lost again going back.Ahh…romance.I don’t know who felt dumber–him or me.I was all dressed up and stuck in a yeshivishe car,and he…well, there were no GPSs in those days, but still…

If you want to go to eat then there is a chinese, american restaurant called Wok n Grill. It’s amazing!! Or you can travel 20 minutes and go to teaneck where there is tons of places!

Maybe don’t so somewhere in Monsey proper as she might not want to be seen by all her friends.

not purple pear!! rlly rlly not the type(its like the hack of town, usually bustling with ppl) wok and grill more the type.

i think its probably smarter to stick with one of the hotel lobbies-google it beforehand- but if u want to go out to eat ur probably better off in teaneck (mocha bleu is the dating hotspot of monsey, private, quiet, good light food or just drinks and nice dessert…HIGHLY RECCOMNDED) or the monsey sushi metzuyan.

alos if the weather is nice and u dont mind the drive-i know someone who went to woodbury commmons just to walk around or the shorthills mall…

If you want a nice quiet restaurant then Al di LA otherwise Pearl river hilton is a good hotel and please bring your GPS.

Don’t go to Al Di La on a date! its definitely a really nice restaurant, but not a dating spot. too much in the center of things..

Pull up to the Atrium and ask her if she thinks it would be a good place for your chasuna.

Do NOT go to the Dave and Buster’s bar- even for soda- if both people are not 21. My cousin and the guy she was dating were carded (he was 21, she wasn’t) and kicked out of D&B.

    (They got married 🙂 )

Hashemisreading: It’s up there with Bronx Zoo on Wednesday Chol HaMoed…

I just heard someone suggest Escape the Room. I was like, no, really bad idea 🙂

Everyone I know goes into the city, honestly… but Bear Mountain is nice, and so is the park off Exit 1 Palisades by the bridge.

I actually have never seen a yeshivish date at a Monsey restaurant. I’m guessing people go to Teaneck or the city.

Park ridge Marriott is a nice lounge sort of date spot. Or drive twenty minutes or so into Westchester to one of the many hotels

Honestly, I think at this point in the development of Monsey, most of the population here are doing beshows.

Did you ever consider Jill’s Ceramics in Nyack? If it’s not Chanuka or midwinter vacation, there shouldn’t be too many people from Monsey there, and it’s a really cool place.

Nyack also has a great park near the water with a long hiking trail…it’s beautiful!

Yes Jills Ceramics is nice, ive spent many a Sunday there when I was younger.

I have a question about that though. So I go on a date with this guy, (or girl, depending which gender i want to be today) and I make a nice bowl lets say. Then the next week the guy breaks up with me and now I’m stuck with this dumb bowl! its a bit of a waste!

Why make nice projects if ere not engaged yet?
