all personal reasons aside, just honest opinions from the way they spoke & how it went, who do you think won the final debate & why do you think they won.

One method is by following some set of debate rules, as they do in high-school and college debating societies, e.g., who cited the most facts, who marshalled the best arguments, et al. The other method is to look at the polls following the debates to see who is more likely to win the election. By that measure, there is one clear winner: Hillary.
Having said all that, I think CTLawyer has the best answer.
October 23, 2016 11:47 am at 11:47 am #1187636gofishMemberI wasn’t impressed with either one’s performance, but imo Hillary did a better job than Donald.
Donald had numerous gaffes in this debate. His alarming answer to whether he would concede or not, which completely contradicted what his daughter Ivanka and his VP Mike Pence said – Ivanka just that morning, became the chief takeaway of the debate. It split the Republican Party even more. He deflected numerous questions, went off topic and said many false things which the audience knew had been debunked already.
More than that, he was crude, really crude. His insults to Hillary, sometimes completely out of nowhere and out of place, make him appear to be childish and a sore loser. It was the approach of a desperate loser, not a confident winner.
Hillary on the other hand was confident and polished. Her answers were articulate, well thought out and her approach of taking the higher road made Donald look boorish and foolish next to her. I didn’t like some of her answers and think she could have done better, but she gave a decent, strong performance.

October 26, 2016 6:10 pm at 6:10 pm #1187638geepsMemberhey golfish u r 100% wrong. hillary rightfully deserved every single one of those scathing remarks that trump said and how i wish he would have said more. she is the most nasty and corrupt person to ever run for president.
she is one of the only ppl i know who can legitimately debate herself bc shes expressed different opinions on just about every matter there is. she is so anti israel and wants to shut down all the settlements therby giving the accursed arabs more land to shoot at us from. pls do your research a little more thoroughly next time. October 26, 2016 11:12 pm at 11:12 pm #1187641gofishMembergeeps, you haven’t provided me with one concrete fact to back up your statement that I am 100% wrong. And yes, I have researched this quite extensively – using logic and facts, not hysteria and drama.
I am not discussing either candidate. I have had enough of that in real life, and frankly cannot wait until this ghastly election is over. I was discussing each candidate’s debate performance. How they performed at the third and final debate. Not the candidates themselves.
October 27, 2016 12:46 am at 12:46 am #1187642DikDukDuckParticipantIn my opinion
Trump hasn’t performed well in any of the debates. In the second debate he did do a good job appearing gentlemanly by apologizing for his comments and giving Hillary praise.
By not performing well I mean Trump hasn’t presented his policies as clearly (more like not at all) as Hillary. Hillary obviously prepares for the debates beforehand as all her lines sound good and scripted – but Trump’s improvise-style seems to pull (or dumb down) the debate into a dimension Hillary didn’t prepare her. Trump didn’t leave her speechless much but he did elicit a lot of gawky expressions from her. Count how many times Hillary the professional smiled like an insulted teenager in an internet fight.
These are just my observations and frankly I don’t like either of them. I like Pence more than Kaine though.
