You know that feeling you have when you pay $70 – $80 to fill up your tank? But then you wont even think twice to take a water bottle while you are paying. Well with gasoline being around $3.75 a gallon that will be a little over 2 cents per oz, but a $1.25 for a 16 oz bottle of water will be 8 cents per oz.

Are you serious? Bottled water is about $1.50 if you buy by the gallon, and even cheaper in the 10 gallon jugs you get with a water cooler. You are paying for the added cost of packaging, labeling, ect. the larger number of 16 oz bottles, as well as for the convenience of having a bottle that you can carry comfortably so you don’t have to lug around a 1 gallon container.

Shoprite spring water is $0.79 – $0.89 cents a gallon. Check your bottled water as many are merely filtered tap water (purified water) and not spring water.

In a recent article about bottled water it was pointed out that

Evian(name of a popular bottled water) is the reverse of “naive”, which we are about alot going on around us, including water!

A friend of mine who use to “so call” sell bottled water was asked by his mother in law where the water came from, so he answered someone sits by the sink and fills bottle by bottle!

Many people here are from NY where that isn’t an option because of bugs, unless you have filters on the tap.

Forgot to mention that in my post. I also use filtered tap water – a Brita. Every time that I change the filter, I scrub out the Brita and the amount of schmutz on the inside of it amazes me – and not from the charcoal filter. This is “stuff” from the water. I find that Brita water is excellent to drink, although I often drink straight from the tap as well, if I have just refilled the Brita and it isn’t chilled enough for me.
