I live in Midwood/ BP and have a vacation home in Rockland County
I cannot speak about any other areas and I fervently wish that they are following the guidelines mandated by the counties or states they are located in
I go to shul and find that although signs state rather clearly that masks are required, it seems that most people take it as a suggestion and disparage those wearing them. When I go shopping it is the same thing.
When I see hitchhikers trying to get a ride and they have no mask and they are picked up by people not wearing a mask and this in plain view of non-Jews who look at this with revulsion.
Maybe they have antibodies, maybe they have natural immunities, I don’t know. What I do know is that it is not so difficult to do particularly if not doing so causes a chillul Hashem.
I wish someone would explain this to me

I’ve noticed at least the same proportion of local non-Jews disregarding the virus rules as Jews who are doing so. Anyone blaming the Jews was an antisemite to begin with, before there was this virus.

    Dear Nachshon,
I think it is peer pressure. Personally speaking to people, they are more unsure of what they think, than what they practice. (Both ways.)
