Frustrating, your following a thread, you check and see “last update 3 min ago by.. ”
So you go to it only to find last update was two days ago by a different poster
    What gives?
Is it really so hard to get a system that accurately reflects the posts in real time?

    Apparently it is

The CR software (bbPress), as implemented on YWN, is full of bugs.

Toras Moshe: Perhaps you will volunteer your technical savy to the Mods and help resolve the issues that occasionally require a lag in posting the full text of updates that have been separately posted in the real time log of moderated postings. Overall, the process here is a lot better and has fewer problems than most other niche moderated blogs I track with very moderation by real human beings versus algorithmic monitoring and moderatkon.

The individuals replies created with the topic reply entry is out of sync after an update. The replies created is correct but not the topic.

The edit screen and replies created by the individual is correct, so it looks like we are editing the replies created and not the reply under the topic which gets the two out of sync.

CA, should the mods pay be docked 25% for every day they are slow in approving posts?

    Joe,

    That wouldn’t help (25% of 0 is 0)

I think they should lose their mod privileges….

    Wait…..a…..minute….

    🤔🤪😂

CA, it took you over four days to respond to me. So you have no taaina when it takes the mods six hours to approve posts.

In a few years, there will be no need for “Mods” since advances in artificial intelligence will allow for “real-time” moderation. I’m certain the Mods are looking forward to a well-deserved retirement, knowing that their computerized replacements will have been programmed entirely based on several years of their responses to KlugerYid, Reb Yosef and the rest of the gang.

    Joe,

It’s not my job to answer someone’s post (especially if I didn’t see it for four days, hey I don’t even know when the mods approved your post)

CA, your obligation to respond in a timely manner to posts addressed to you is no less than the mods obligations to approve posts in a timely manner.

To Mod 29: Shanah tovah. Sorry, my posting was meant to be a dry humor response to LB’s “its happening again”…..Nothing was posted so nothing was deleted…..

CA, I must commend you for your improvement. You responded this time within 24 hours of being addressed. Let’s try to up the ante to bring your response time to within 12 hours in the future. Even with that goal your standard is still lower than that what you expect from the mods.

    Joe,

The post time isn’t proof as to when the mods approved the post

I’m proving to joe that just because the time stamp shows one time it doesn’t mean that’s when I replied

My problem is that if you look at the main CR screen with the list of the threads, it is not changing. Perhaps the times of posts are changing, but that screen is not updating. On the right side of YWN pages where it shows the latest in the CR, there are different threads listed there. Why aren’t they the same anymore?

For the past week or two the main page of the CR has broken and been displaying incorrectly.

Oddly enough ifound it’s only happening in my chrome browser but not firefox. Go figure

Syag: It makes a difference whether you’re logged into the CR or not in how it displays incorrectly.

Why would I want to sign out?

Syag, I’m suggesting why you may be seeing a different behavior between Chrome and Firefox. One may be logged in and the other not. This is a new bug in the CR that developed in the last couple weeks.

Since for many threads, any correlation between the OP and the responses is purely coincidental, the lag in updating shouldn’t be a problem. The new software, once the bugs are worked out, will randomly assign responses to topics, but do so on a real time basis.
