Why are some people commenting on threads and conversations that took place a year or two ago?

    a) Not everybody can think that fast

    b) Somebody just happened to chance by a “good” one. (or two) (or three)..(or fifty)

    c) Someone new who missed those good ones trying to have the same fun as those who (lived it through)

    d) < left unintentionally blank >

Are you the same person bumping those threads? Just curious.

As a WIY, you should know. No, I’m not the same. Why should I plagiarize someone else’s when I could plagiarize my own.

My, my, how’d you fish this one out. I even forgot about this one (and some of my other NarishKites)

Some forums enforce a rule against thread bumping, but evidently the coffee room doesn’t.

Also old stuff can stay relevant forever. Old threads = tradition.

Sometimes you chance upon a good thread which is either relevant to an ongoing discussion, or happens to be an interesting topic. Yesterday, I bumped a thread to make a joke about the subject line, not really relevant to the thread at all. Meanwhile, nobody got the joke and everybody’s busy debating the original topic. Oh well…

      It’s called prioritising

      #1215851

Its actually in the cr rule thread stickied on top; that you should check if there is an existing thread in the subject before starting a new one. So your question is really who listens to tiles. To that, I have no answer.

Sometimes I get bored of the current threads or I have nothing to say on the topic so I dig up something else.

I don’t know anyone who listens to tiles.

      #1215854

Neither do I, that’s what I wrote. 🙂 I tried to write rules, but my keyboard knew better. Sorry.

My, my, how’d you fish this one out.

I was actually trying to figure out what you meant by this:

      http://www.theyeshivaworld.com/coffeeroom/topic/nope-not-going-to-start-it-this-year

and everybody’s busy debating the original topic

      History repeats itself.

Its actually in the cr rule thread stickied on top; that you should check if there is an existing thread in the subject before starting a new one

The exact phrasing of the tile is, Before starting a new topic do a quick check to see if the topic exists So only things which come up quickly are included.

As I wrote (will not attempt the unreadable) I want my teeth firmly IN my mouth… (ever saw a frogless tooth?) But hey.. if someone else starts.. they can’t blame me for letting loose..

Anything relevant will come up quickly.

True, if you use the google search–not if you use the search in the top right corner.

It took you over a year to realize that?

      D) Because those threads didn’t actually exist years ago.

Someone time-traveled backwards and made a butterfly fly to get the OP to post the post and then returned to respond. It was really only a few seconds later but with the jetlag it seems longer.
