As a teen, I have many dreams. For quite some time, I’ve been thinking that I’ll be the one to make this world a better place to live in. Among others, I have a dream to be a teacher who:

1- Detects when a child is going through abuse (especially BPD), and give them proper care.

2- Instilles Ahavas Hashem and Yiras Hashem in the kids.

3- Make sure kids don’t get involved with inappropiate friendships.

    And much much more!

Now, my question is as follows: Weren’t there ppl before me who had those dreams? Did they come true? What good is dreaming if it won’t become reality?

Follow your dreams, but you can’t always plan the CONTEXT in which they are meant to develop.

Ex.I thought I will always have an open house as a married person.Turns out, people like to visit us…anyway.Get it?

I once had a dream of making a small group of people happy. What happened to that dream?

There is a saying, “Aim for the stars if you miss at least you hit the sky”

I believe everyone starts off their life dreaming, whether you are homeless and sleeping under an over-pass or you are the President of the United States.

When you look in to the eyes of a child and you see the spark and glow, thats untainted enthusiasm and ambition for life not yet mired by a reality of challenges and set-backs.

You seem interested in teaching. Think of who came before you, Sara Schinerer. There would be no Bais Yaakov movement without her, I’d say it’s safe to bet her dreams became a reality.

It’s healthy to dream, and to try as best as you can to turn those dreams in to a reality, but if you see that they cant be a reality for YOU at least you will be paving the road for the next person.

There is a story about someone who told R’ Meir Shapiro Ztz”l when he was planning Yeshivas Chachmei Lublin; “the rosh yeshivah is dreaming”. He answered, yes I’m dreaming but I’m not sleepping……I’m doing something about it.

I once had a dream to patent a triangle shaped flying vehicle. It had a glass dome on top where you sit inside an small box things that made it fly. It came in family size too.

But my mother probably through out my plans that I had drawn and I don’t have the creativity I had when I was 8 anymore to remember how it was supposed to look.

I guess civilization will need to wait until someone else creates them now.

I don’t think that this is one of those things where you have to take other’s experiences into consideration.

Go ahead and dream big. Don’t let anything stop you (especially others failure or success)!

Daven for it every day, and invest plenty of hishtadlus, and you’ll be okay.

    Good luck!

Dream as high as you can, so at least you will carry out a fraction of what you intended to do! And that will still be a huge accomplishment.
