Do you think it Will work as good as hebrew, so you can just copy and paste an entire section from bar illan and have it rendered instantly into readable english?

April 16, 2015 10:07 pm at 10:07 pm #1072582akupermaParticipantUnless you have very low standards as to what constitutes “readable English”, all you get is a good rought draft ready for someone who can read the language to turn into readable English. Only a fool would rely on machine translations.
April 16, 2015 10:25 pm at 10:25 pm #1072583Sam2ParticipantNo, because Gemara Aramaic isn’t really a consistent language.
What you’re asking for is Artscroll.

Yes, thats exactly what I am referring to. Do you think that will ever happen?
“What you’re asking for is Artscroll.”
Not really. I know aramic and I know the difference between the two.
April 17, 2015 1:02 pm at 1:02 pm #1072585HaLeiViParticipantDid you ever try Google Translating a page of a Sefer that isn’t popular common day Hebrew? When I’m in the mood of laughing I put in something from Gevuras Hashem of the Maharal. You’d be hard pressed to find three coherent words.
April 17, 2015 2:52 pm at 2:52 pm #1072586zahavasdadParticipantYou can make one yourself, Hebrew Books.org was just started because someone saw a need.
It probably wouldnt be that difficult as its not a spoken language and you dont need to figure out things like idiomatic expressions , indirect references and other hints and indirect references that a speaker knows, but a computer cannot figure out unless its told directly
