I was thinking (i don’t know why, so don’t ask) about woman wearing teffilan and how woman are strongly discouraged from putting on teffilan. Then i thought that we encorouge woman to eat, drink, etc. in the sukka, but the two mitzvos are the same. Woman are patur from both (they are both mitzvos shezman grama), so i was wondering why are woman encouraged to do one but discouraged to do the other? Im not saying woman should start putting on teffilan or stop eating in the sukka, I just wanna know what’s going on
Reform women wear a talis and tefilin.
I dont encourage women to eat in the sukkah, except one of my sisters; shes fun.
That’s because the women want to be part of the fun.
Tefillin is the only Mitzvah where the Shulchan Aruch says explicitly that even though women can choose to do other PTBMs, this one they can’t do.
Dr Seuss: Chas V’shalom that we should stop doing Mitzvos just because some reform or conservative do. If reform men wore Tefillin would you stop?
abe-there are gemaros that say womenshouldnt wear tefillin. theres also the prob. og guf naki. theres no problem for other mitzvos.
