I am interested in knowing if anyone knows of a company or private person who is looking form people to work from home. Do you know of any opportunities for an English speaking person living in E”Y looking for a job through the internet?September 9, 2008 3:28 pm at 3:28 pm #621699
I don’t know if my last comment went through. There is something wrong with my internet. I was asking what is PHP. Also, I have a job, but know some people living in Eretz Yisroel who are working. Thanks!September 9, 2008 4:45 pm at 4:45 pm #621700

PHP is an open source programming language used on the Web.September 10, 2008 1:07 pm at 1:07 pm #621702
intellegent and Itzik_s: Besides for being open source is Itzik said, PHP is very popular here in EY (much more than in the Microsoft-ruled USA). (I believe PHP was invented here too) The work ethic here in EY is much more similar to Europe, where PHP is used professionally very heavily. Try finding a USA job with PHP – good luck. But here it’s on par with .NET – and can land you a very good salary. (Actualy, I was told that experienced Java developers earn even more then their .NET counterparts.)
Since you don’t seem to be tech oriented, you might want to call USA hospitals (especially those in smaller cities,) and ask them if they need anyone to work on the midnight shift for data monitoring. (That’s 7:00 AM here – in America no one wants those hours, but in EY, it’s ideal.) – HatzlachaSeptember 10, 2008 5:42 pm at 5:42 pm #621703
I’m not so familiar with the professional jargon. I never really worked with a computer that is not Microsoft. That is an interesting idea that you say about hospitals! They would be willing to take someone to work from a distance? Do you know anyone doing this or just guessing?September 10, 2008 6:18 pm at 6:18 pm #621704
Kitzur – good to hear that at least SOMETHING is done right in E”Y.
I used to be a partner in an ASP.net development firm (business end – I’m not a programmer) and besides everything else I saw how inflexible it is. I have three open source php projects now on my own account and the difference is like day and night (never mind the costs).
