I have a relative whom I truly envy. She seems to be blessed with a phenomenal memory ??? ??? ???. Whatever I need I’m forever writing lists. Shopping lists, things to do etc. But she just remembers it all.
She does her shopping completely from memory, does her ??? ??? cooking and planning from memory although she has many guests for many of the meals and has been invited out for other meals, she remembers with every detail events I barely recall with the dates and circumstances, who went where when and why.
So my question is this:
What came first, the chicken or the egg?
Does she not need lists because she has a great memory, or does she have a great memory because she uses it and does not rely on lists.
My answer: Oh I can’t remember. What do you think?
1st of alk why are you jelous? She prob. Had to make herself a good memory, you just dont have a good one cuz you dont need it, just shtick all those lists on you, you are shticky after all, thats the blessing Hashem gave you! 😉
She has a good memory and therefore doesn’t need to rely on lists so much. Me thinks.
I used to have a good memory but since having kids my short term memory is shot to hell. If it’s not on a list, it gets forgotten. And that includes what needs to be done erev shabbos, things that I do by routine every week…
I make lists of everything. (Or use software to do the same at the office). I forget stuff, so I make notes and make lists.
When I am working I keep an index card or notepad and pencil next to my desk for making notes.
I’m with notasheep. When I was young I had a phenomenal memory, now it’s completely lost. Everything needs to be put into my phone, or it’s forgotten!
I can’t function without my lists – whether written or done on the computer, I MUST HAVE THEM. Without them, nothing would get done! Wait a minute – nothing gets done anyway. Hmmm. So what’s the use? So what was I saying………………
