Does anyone have any recommendations for a fun, yeshivish summer day camps in Brooklyn? Our son is currently in 7th grade. We are not sending him away to sleepaway camp this year, but want him to have a good day camp experience. Someone mentioned Camp Yedidim — does anyone know anything about it?

Our boys, as well as other yeshivish children on our block, go to Noam Day Camp. It is a real great place with a strong emphasis on the learning program, run by a top notch, well respected mechanech. They have trips twice a week, as well as swimming and sports the other two days. The day camp has been in existance for 37 years and is very popular amongst the heimishe oilam who want their children to be in a great environment during the summer with a fantastic program. We are very proud to send our sons there and join the many other proud parents in our childrens classes.

Both noam and yedidim are yeshivish day camps. noam has a great program, but yedidim is supposed to be on another level, they try to emulate a sleep away camp. they start at 9:30 and go until 6 or 7:30 they have 4 major trips etc.. (according to what I remember my son telling me. )Yedidim is much more expensive. Yedidim is supposed to have the most learning of any day camp ( I think that is why my son’s yeshiva pushes it)

You can speak to the director who can be reached at 718-677-0767. Our children are registered already, and they received a memories video of 2010 right before Pesach, keeping them occupied during their vacation. You can ask for a free copy and I am sure they will send you one as well.

O Yea. I heard about Camp Yedidim. It’s really a very great camp. And it feels like a sleep away camp while being right at home. Amazing!!!
