    What Myth?
Who ever thought blood was blue?
The vessels look blue through the skin, not the blood.
    Vulcans’ have blue blood!

” did, and I still do. Prove to me otherwise.”

Im certain you are kidding, but in case you think it is hard to prove. The easiest way is go to aa lab have your blood drawn with a vacutainer (a standard blood vial) . By definition there is no oxygen in the tube the blood appears in the tube exactly as in your body it is not blue.

If yo want to get even fancier have them send off simultaneous arterial and venous blood gasses. thsi measures the amount of oxygen in the blood. you wil lsee quite clearly that while the venous blood is deoxygenated compared to areterial blood. It is not blue, though the shade of red may vary between the two

I liek health, though wonder if anyone really thinks or thought blood is blue or is this one of those “myths” that people l;ike disproving but nobody actually believes

    “Prove to me otherwise”

Why – I’m not your teacher?!? But for a price I could be.

    “Vulcans have blue blood!”

It’s common knowledge that Vulcan blood is copper-based, and is copper- or rust-colored when deoxygenated in the veins, and green when oxygenated in the arteries.

ok from what i understand blood before it gets to your heart is blue after it is red(oxygen)…which is why when looking for a vein to to inject for any reason they look for a blue one because it goes to your heart otherwise it defeats the purpose

    RG -“for a blue one”

The veins only appear blue through the skin. The actual venous blood is dark red.

    Actually, they have green blood.

(Also, as an aside, never use an apostrophe to denote a plural.)

    Red blood? Blue blood?

My son is color-blind. One day, when he was around 4 years old, there was screaming coming from his room. I ran in to find him staring at a cut on his arm. He said “Mommy, I’m bleeding GREEN!”

According to two posters above – he must be a VULCAN!

I was kidding, but I appreciate your response anyway. Interesting.

How do they keep the vial free from oxygen?
