Can anyone help me. I stopped receiving the email news stories about four weeks ago. I have tried contacting YWN but don’t get any responses. I have tried unsubscribing and resubscribing. Why can’t i get the emails? Help me please

March 17, 2010 2:30 pm at 2:30 pm #681672Y.W. EditorKeymasterThe alert system is currently being upgraded, and dozens of changes are being implemented to better enhance the system, which is used by tens of thousands.
All alerts were stopped for a few weeks, but have since resumed (as of 2 weeks ago).
The alerts which are being sent out include just the first few lines of the story, and then a link to “read more”.
The only issue we are apparently having is with AOL accounts, who are not receiving any alerts.
Do you have an AOL account?
March 17, 2010 3:07 pm at 3:07 pm #681673qawsMemberWhy was the format changed to only a few lines of the story and then a “read more” link? It defeats the whole purpose of why someone might want the emails. If they need to click a link to read the whole story, let them go to the website in the first place. Some people want the whole story in the email so that they can read it in their email.

I also have a google groups account that I use at the school I teach in and I don’t receive any alerts there either. I don’t receive any alerts – not even the ones that prompt to read more (since I only have dial up it wouldn’t help me anyway.

Maybe there should be an option for people to choose what format the email should be?
