So I noticed this updated feature on YW, the Simcha Listings. (If you missed it, there is a link on top in yellow and another on the sidebar above the bolded Ride Sharing. It also holds a very large box on the bottom of the YWHP)

I was wondering if this section is really necessary? When you tNichum Aveilem – Daily

Hashovas Avaidahink of Simchas online, what comes to mind?

Look at the Nichum Aveilem and Hashovas Avaida sections. (Links on the sidebar) They are links to other sites which are famous for what they offer (at least Nichum Aveilem/Misaskim. I don’t know how famous the Hashovas Avaida site is.) Why didn’t YW start there own Nichum Aveilem and Hashovas Avaida sections? Cause there is no need for it.

So why not put a link to OnlySimchas instead of starting a new one?

May we all only have simchas.

I have found a large percentage of the pictures on onlysimchas to be somewhere between disappointing and depressing. Having a simcha site without pictures is a huge draw for me.

    I agree with Syag.

Also, YWN’s simcha section allows trolling, which is a big plus.

Syag, I understand what you are saying. Maybe OS! can have an option to hide pictures? I just don’t think it is necessary to have two simcha pages, especially when the other is way more ahead and the newer one is not really offering anything new (sans the no pics, which my not be forever…)

I love Yeshiva World (and the CR, of course), but I think we should let those who are doing a decent job continue…

(And the Ride Sharing service is also a different site)
