    Dr. Pepper – you seem like a wise man but the correct answer is -8 feet. The total distance traveled can be easily calculated since it is a telescoping sum:

    Distance = – 8 + 6.5 – 6.5 + 4.875 – 4.875 + …..

    ‘. = – 8(+ 6.5 – 6.5)+(4.875 – 4.875)+(…..

    = – 8
