Just for your information. Its time to reclaim our true yiddishe heritage. The name Yenta actually means Princess. Its a yiddish translation of the Italian name Jentilia which was an Italian translation of Sarah. We should try to eradicate the denigrating connotation made up by people who weren’t makpid on Shmiras Haloshon. I am the proud grandmother of a sweet little “yentele” who is named after my grandmother who was an exceptional woman, with tremendous Emunah and fine middot. The laws of Shmiras Halashon are very complex especially as regards shiduchim. I try to daven a short request to Hashem to help me when asking about a Shidduch, both in asking the right questions and understanding the replies. I am a very direct person, literal-minded and don’t understand when people speak in codes as they sometimes do.
