15 entertaining logic games for kids
To teach a child logic, no special devices, toys, or equipment are needed. A sheet of paper, a pencil, matches - a huge number of logic games can be invented only with these objects - and even without them at all (if we are talking about word games).
1. Puzzle with matches
A good example of a fun activity with something that is always at hand.
Before starting the game, an adult must make a given picture out of matches and only after that invite the child to rearrange one or more matches in such a way that the picture changes.
Match puzzles can be made for children of different ages. Common to all tasks is their clarity and the fact that matches can be rearranged as many times as you like, achieving the right solution.
Please note: tasks with matches often require a non-standard approach.
During the game, spatial thinking, attentiveness, perseverance develops.
2. Trompe l'oeil riddles
Trick riddles are a kind of poetic riddles with a distraction: the correct answer is not the answer that rhymes.
The child must understand that the simplest answer is not always correct, abstract from the obvious option, think a little.
This game always cheers up, especially if several people are playing it - someone will definitely answer incorrectly (in rhyme).
3. Einstein's tasks
Einstein's riddles are a kind of logic puzzles with a large number of elements and conditions.
The solution is to match the elements with the conditions, excluding the (by definition) impossible options.
It is believed that Einstein proposed to solve such a problem (and others like it) orally, without notes - however, it is very difficult: there are too many conditions to keep in mind.
The task develops logical thinking and memory, teaches to establish connections between objects, to classify and structure the available data.
Children are encouraged to solve this problem with the compilation of a table.
4. Rebus
Puzzles for children are very different: with letters, numbers, signs, pictures. They have one thing in common: you need to guess the encrypted word.
There is a standard set of rules for solving puzzles, but sometimes you just need to look at the picture from a different angle - these are the games that are most interesting.
This activity is loved by children of all ages. It develops non-standard thinking, creativity, intuition, and also broadens the child's horizons.
5. Chess problems
Solving chess problems does not always presuppose masterly mastery of the technique of the game, however, basic knowledge - how the pieces look, how they "move", what is the victory in the game - it is necessary to have it.
Chess problems for children usually involve the achievement of some result: "checkmate" or a certain combination in several moves, sometimes in one move.
For clarity, at first it is more convenient to solve problems on the board. Later, you can limit yourself to a picture or a computer screen.
6. Math games
Children's math games are, in fact, examples for elementary arithmetic calculations, but presented in a playful way: in the form of interesting pictures, crosswords, mazes and other tasks. They not only do not cause negative emotions in the child, but, on the contrary, stimulate interest in mathematics as an interesting science full of secrets and mysteries.
The tasks develop the child's analytical skills and, of course, numeracy skills. This is good preparation for school.
7. Mathematical puzzles
These tasks are not like puzzles in the usual sense. These are mathematical problems presented in graphical form. Solving them often requires some simple calculations. But that's not the point. A prerequisite for solving a mathematical puzzle is attentiveness and creativity.
But the result of hobby for such games always becomes the development of a child's non-standard thinking, logic, perseverance.
8. Math puzzles
These are real web Sudoku puzzles, but with elements of mathematics. In solving such problems, the skills of counting are rarely used directly - here the originality of thinking, analytical abilities, and spatial imagination are more appreciated.
Math puzzles tend to be age-specific - but even those designed for the smallest are often fun for adults as well.
9. Sudoku
An exciting logic game for children and adults in which you need to fill a square with cells with numbers or pictures in a certain way. As a rule, images should not repeat horizontally or vertically, but there are additional conditions.
Sudoku online for children can be both simple (for example, 3 by 3 cells for the smallest), and difficult - for older children. This is an interesting and meditative activity. It develops spatial thinking, analytical skills, perseverance, logic.
