If you get multiple canker sores often, it is possible that they are not “canker sores” but rather a virus. My friend had a very bad outbreak of sores and the doctor said that the same virus that caused her chicken pox as a kid had resurfaced in her system and came out as mouth sores. A prescription medication got rid of the sores, but every once in a while they still come out. She told me that she can tell when a sore is about to come out and she gargles with listerine to catch it before it does. (She said only brand name listerine works for her).

Mix together some eggs with potato starch and spices until it’s the consistency of a thick batter. Then dip the chicken cutlets into it and make sure its well coated. Immediately fry in oil. (The batter forms a delicious crust, similar to the batter on chametzdik sesame chicken, before the sauce is added). You can then add a sauce if you want.

They have public hunts in various locations on specific dates. You have to register your team in advance. Your group can be 2-6 ppl. You meet at the designated meeting place at the time on the ticket and the MC explains everything and gives you the clues. They are usually trivia questions about the hunt location, but the kind of questions where you need to actually be at the site in order to answer (so you can’t cheat and google the answer on your blackberry!) They usually offer a modest prize to the winning team (like a voucher for another hunt). A lot of the hunts in NY are in museums or public outdoor locations like central park or grand central terminal. I think the exact web address is http://www.watsonadventures.com . They are oftentimes on shabbos but every once in a while they have one in a location you like on a day that works. They can also make a private hunt according to your specifications, like for a school or business, but that is much more expensive. They also have family hunts, themed hunts, whodunit kind of hunts. This would probably also be fun to do with friends, or maybe husbands against wives!!

I just discovered this place called watson that does some amazing trivia-type scavenger hunts in locations all over the US. It is not terribly expensive (it was about $45 for the two of us), and its a great way to spend a solid two hours together, get some exercise, and learn a lot of interesting info about the hunt site. They are not item hunts, where you search for things, but trivia hunts. They have a website with their hunts listed. The Central Park hunt for families is a fantastic way to spend time with your kids, too.
