My father, A”H, had he Minhag of going to our Shul Sukkah and eating food from the Shul on Hoshana Rabbah. It seems like this was based on the Minhag of Lekach. The one thing I do not know, which I would greatly appreciate, is do any of you know of a Tefillah that accompanies Lekach? As has been pointed out, the purpose is for the Kiyum of the Gezairah of Matnas Bosor V’Dam and Galus, but I seem to remember my father saying a Tefillah which encompassed both of those things, but I cannot find the Tefillah (my father was niftar almost 23 years ago). Any leads would be greatly appreciated.
skreitMemberI just spoke with someone about Mikeitz a few months back. If Rosh Hashana falls on Shabbos and both Cheshvan and Kislev are 29 day months, Chanukah will fall out on Friday. The 2nd day of Chanukah (Shabbos Chanukah) will be Parshas Vayeishev. The next Shabbos, which is no longer Chanukah, will be Mikeitz. Nothing to do with a leap year.
