Is he drunk by the hakufes? Because I think lchatchila you shouldn’t make kidush before being oila to the toireh which is usually after the hakufes and what matir asurim said about dichenen is because everybody is making kidush which is not aloud before dichunen but a inion to get drunk? Don’t think so. By purim I don’t think there’s any doubts its clear cut. But for simchas torah I had never seen anything about getting drunk
I lost a friend to drinking on simchas torah. this is not a joke. there’s no inion to drink on simchas torah. I don’t remember any godel or rebbe or rosh yeshivah drunk on simchas torah. to me its only the real silly people of the shull getting really drunk and the rest laughing them off. That’s the way I see it. May the yom tuv be mashpia on all of us drunk and not alike all bruches. Umen
