HaGaon HaRav Moshe Yaakov Weiss ZT�L, 88, the Gavaad N�vei Achiezer Bnei Brak was niftar early erev Shabbos, in Mayanei HaYeshua Hospital in Bnei Brak. The Gavaad was admitted to the hospital with a cardiac arrhythmia earlier in the week along with a local infection in a leg.

The rav zt�l was born in Satmar, Hungary, to HaGaon Rav Avraham Tzvi Weiss, who was the Gavaad N�vei Achiezer. His father was the first rav of the N�vei Achiezer neighborhood and he held that position until his petira in 5739. The post was then assumed by the niftar.

The niftar was among the greats of Hora�ah and some of the Torah giants sent their talmidim to him for Hora�ah, including the Imrei Chaim of Viznits, the Klausenberg Rebbe, and the Rav of Ponevezh. The Sanzer-Klausenberg Rebbe received smicha from the niftar as did HaRav Yisrael Hager of Vishnitz along with many others.

His sons include HaRav Yitzchak Yeshayahu Weiss, Rosh Beis Hora�ah N�vei Achiezer; and HaRav Aaron Weiss, Rosh Yeshiva Spinka in the USA.

The levaya began at 13:00 from the Heichal Avraham Tzvi Beis Medrash in the N�vei Achiezer neighborhood in Bnei Brak and kvura was in the Ponevezh Beis HaChaim.
