UPDATE: Paskesz Suspends Production of ‘Sour Worx’ Candy After Child Burns Tongue

Following a YWN report on Thursday about a Lakewood child suffering irritation on his tongue after eating a type of sour candy, the Paskesz company has announced suspension of its production.

“We have received reports of irritation to childrens’ mouths after eating Sour Worx candy. This matter is currently being investigated,” the company said in a statement.

Paskesk said Sour Worx contains citric acid which may cause mouth irritation “when consumed excessively”.

The company said it is “voluntarily taking the precaution of temporarily suspending distribution of Sour Worx,” and asks customers to take Sour Worx off the shelves pending completion of the investigation.

As always, the aim of Paskesz Candy is to serve the kosher consumer with high quality products, the statement added.

  1. With all due respect to Pashkesz how can any of the latest trend of sweets be called a quality product? The majority of candies are terrible for our kids and cause all sorts of issues; obesity and hyperactivity to mention a few. There seems to be a race among the top kosher candy providers to see who can outdo the other. Maybe pashkesz should start focusing on healthy snack alternatives.

  2. i wanted to taste it. my sister talks about how sour it is:) and im sorry to that little boy i hope hes feeling better!

  3. Something is not Kosher here.

99.99% of the sour candies produced have the same citric acid in them. Are there other ingredients involved that caused this type of ghastly reaction? Could it be other chemicals that were “Made in China” that we don’t know about or are afraid to find out?
