NYPD Make Arrest After Boro Park Shmira Tracks Down Driver In Triple Hit-And-Run [VIDEO & PHOTOS]

As YWN reported on Motzei Shabbos, a hit-and-run vehicle slammed into three people – including a father and young son – at 11th Avenue and 56 Street on Shabbos afternoon.

According to eye witnesses – and now video footage provided to YWN – the driver backed out of 56 Street and across 11th Avenue, striking the three pedestrians that were in the crosswalk. The driven then put his car into drive, and drove over two of the victims a second time.

Boro Park Hatzolah rushed to the scene and transported the three to local hospitals. One victim suffered broken ribs and needed many stitches.

After Shabbos, Shmira volunteers were dispatched to a possible hate crime involving people run over by a vehicle. After several hours of intensive investigation by Shmira volunteers, following a trail by reviewing close to 30 different cameras, Shmira was able to identify the vehicle – which was parked only a few blocks away.

Shmira volunteers set up a group throughout the night to keep an eye on the vehicle, hoping the perpetrator will return to the vehicle.

Eventually, at around 8:24AM, the individual arrived at his vehicle. Shmira contacted police, who quickly arrived and made the arrest.

Clearly, a job that should have been done by police Detectives, was done by a volunteer patrol, searching more than 30 cameras.

  1. I agree with your last paragraph. If the victims were black or Muslim, the NYPD, detectives, & hate crimes unit would of been on top of the case immediately. As always, Jewish lives don’t matter!
Where are our elected officials? Councilman Yeger & Assemblyman Hikind?

  2. Shame on nypd that they did not step up to the plate. When civilians have to do the investigations what do we pay those expensive salaries and pensions for.

  3. Why is the word Shmira used for every fifth word in the article? Anything about some political issues between two organisations where one is trying to promote itself?
