YWN regrets to inform you of the Petira of the Kalushiner Rebbe of Cedarhurst, HaRav Dovid Spiegal zt”l, the beloved Rebbe who led the kehillah for many decades. The Rebbe had been ill over the past year.
The Levaya will take place Friday morning at 10:30 AM at the shul known as “The Shteeble,” located at 504 West Broadway in Cedarhurst. A large crowd is expected to attend.
Kevurah will take place in New Jersey.

An angelic of a Rebbe, a REAL, EMES, SINCERE, Rebbe that was loved my ALL walks of life. I had the zchus to be the Rebbe’s driver for years- I constantly saw the Rebbe’s humility, how he refrained from ANY kavod. The Rebbe, unlike others, was always accessible. His door was always open and when you came in you were greeted by the warmest smile. A heart of gold, a treasure lost, a rare diamond- Boruch Dayan Emes My Rebbe, My Friend.
An Angelic of a Rebbe. The only Rebbe of the 5towns like the Lubavitcher Rebbe was to Crown Heights. I had the zchus to be the Rebbe’s driver for years. I was constantly in awe of the Rebbe’s humility, how he refrained from any publicity, and excellent speaker but never spoke publicly. The Rebbe was loved by ALL- for his caring and concerns to them. The Rebbe’s youngest son said “He loved you” I loved him too. BDE my Rebbe, my Friend
